i have wrote a commercial letter to send out to businesses to try and get a foot in . but who do you think i should put on the envelope accounts, maintenance etc . could anyone help.

Are you sending alot of letters out? It might be worth while making a quick call to a few asking who is in charge of cleaning. If you address it to a specific person I think it is more likely to get opened with interest rather than put on a pile of junk mail.

hi could we see the letter? am thinking of doing this for power washing.

If you can't get a specific name address it attention of Facilities Manager.

Karygate,
Get on to your local town council or Chamber of Commerce, they will have a cdrom of all local businesses. They will have the name of the main contact, what the company does and number of employees etc.
You can use this to target the companies.
We have done it over the years with good results.

Is this something that councils should provide free of charge - would you need to be a member of the chamber of commerce?

Sorry for the delay in answering but been busy.
Most Town Councils do a brochure to give to give to visiting businesses to attract them to the town, ours cost £12.00 and is updated every 2 years or so.
Chamber of Commece dont charge you normally as its a way of promoting businesses in your area. They meet you, you meet them etc.
