Title: Converting 300gpd Ro unit
Post by: RobE on January 03, 2008, 07:21:37 am
There was a post a few weeks back about converting an 300gpd Ro system to a 40/40 system.

Just wanted to confirm this is possible before I source out the parts?

I have a 300gpd purefreedom at the mo. Would i just need to keep the 3 pre filters and take out the membranes and replace them with a 40inch unit?

I already have a substanial booster pump to maintain the pressure, other than changing some connectotrs to half inch ones would I need any other parts or equipment.

Thanks  Rob

Just disconnect the pipe after the pre-filters, take off the old RO units (Sell em on ebay,... I'm looking for a couple of 100GPD membranes and housings!) and plumb it into your new 4040.
If you're producing a lot of water, you might consider doubling up your pre-filters, and an activated carbon filter is a must if your water is chlorinated I'm told.

Thanks for the advice and ill let you no about the membranes.

Had a look on the net and Gaps water seem to be the best deal for a 40" RO. This includes the pre filters.

Has anyone just brought the 40" housing, membrane on it's own and no of a good supplier

Thanks   Rob
