I use sage my accountant has it on a multi users licence. Have a look at what their pro version doses for you and do you need? Possible saving of £250 that could go to another bit of cc equipment you fancy or any other software upgrades you may need.
Thanks for reminding me wait till xp is no longer supported.

Hi Have used both quickbooks & sage. Sage we found a bit expensive, too complex though gives better detailed information. Quickbooks I think for a small business is ideal, not expensive does very nice charts and nearly drops the data into the colums definatly a layman accounting program extremly user friendly.

We have used Quickbooks for years, mainly as we have staff, and use the payroll section, which you have to up date regularly, they have just doubled their charge for this part of their service >:(
I suspect that the company has been bought out by Sage or similar.

Used Quickbooks for a few years now, does everything I need it to do and a lot more, the payroll is excellent and another big plus is you can run upto 10,000 businesses from the one software package, unlike Sage which will only run one unless you buy the multiuser licence.
You should be able to do a straight transfer from Quicken to Quickbooks as they are both designed by the same company Intuit, the best thing to do is ring them and talk to them.
You may also be able to get a "patch" from them that will upgrade your edition of Quicken software to vista compatible. I get updates sent every year from Quickbooks and from 2006 all their software was vista compatible.

Better get my head down in 2008!

Ian,
I think that was one of our problems yoiu were able to move versions around from quicken to quicken but not from quicken to quickbooks it used to say " incompatible format". I would wait till end of financial year archive & start new as long as the records are retained their shouldn't be a problem. The newer version on the filter side are more friendly as more & more programs can exchange info easier.

If you change fro one prog to another make sure you print everything you can possibly print for your records. I changed system and lost some bits that the accountant went ape over. He had to delve in last years records and it cost me dearly.
