7 months :o
My resin was lasting less than 2 weeks, I also change me prefilters every other month.
My TDS is 470+ out of tap though :-[
I change when it goes over 000 as I like the water 000 all the time, call me fussy but 000 I know it is pure

Change your pre-filters at the earliest possible time or you could wreck your RO membranes. It's normally best to change pre-filters quarterly if they are 10" or half yearly if they are 20". Hopefully youyr membranes are OK. In the meantime, changing the resin would be a good idea. Don't let the sudden lower TDS following this change lull you into a false sense of security though. Those pre-filters should be past their sell by date by now.

if you think about a fiver is expensive then I guess it is. I am having two resin barrels as soon as connections arrive to cut down the waste of resin, should have had this straight away but I did not know to much about it and got talked out of it ::)
I have a 4040 RO by the way, prefilters are alot cheaper to replace than a £200+ membrane ;)

cottonbud10 your pre filters are the bottom 3 . the top 3 are membranes i usually change mine around every 5000ltrs of product water produced . to flush turn the blue tap into flush position i normally do this for 5 minutes each day . but others do it maybe once a week .
