Not a chance.

You can make plenty of money in this job monday-friday the rest of the year.

There's no need to work any other time, especially holidays.
You'd have to be desperate.

i guess for some its just another day

traditionally the window cleaner was normally a jehovah's witness

even if you dont celebrate, you could at least have a few days off

working on christmas day  ;D ;D ;D

Well I put £401 - £500.  I could always take a day off another time in lieu.  I don't have any family within 200+ miles of me so no problem there - and many of them don't do Christmas anyway.
I suppose if I was religious I wouldn't do it but I'm not.

I am religious and I dont do Christmas but I still wouldnt go out and work on Christmas day for 2 reasons.
1. Nobody would want you round on that day and 2. Its a good excuse to take a couple of days out which I wouldnt normally do.

I think if you keep religion out of Xmas, and many in the UK do, the only reason for not working it is to be with your kids.  If I had no kids I would be tempted to work a bit I suppose.

I'd do commercial work on the 25th if I was really under pressure,.. but I'd want very good money, and only if could take another day off to make up for it.
It's a day to spend with the family though if at all possible.

I'm working tomorrow. Great for commercial work. No parked cars. I've had my fun this December, just got back from brazil for 2 weeks and need to catch up on work.

Well of course I wouldn't do the work uninvited if itwas domestic.  I can't see anyone wanting it done Christmas day anyway.  I have cleaned on schools on boxing day before though but that was as much to do with not being able to stand the people I was living with as to do with earning.

NO WAY! Its a day to be with the family. I don't believe in the religeous stuff but my family comes first. I work hard the rest of the time so I am able to have the next few days off. Going to see Fiddler on the Roof tomorrow in London.

I visited my son yesterday, while we were there a car just outside was involved in a hit & run, passenger was badly shaken up, they phoned the police.....
Just as well they don't have the attitude of some of you lot!

Within 10 minutes there was a police car, an ambulance and a fire engine!  I must admit I think the fire crew were on a good earner, but the other two were needed and were very helpful not just in it for the cash.

Not quite the same thing as cleaning windows, though, is it?

I worked on Christmas day from about 9.00 am till 2.00 pm*.

I saw Squeaks working today though, or at least I saw his gay bright-yellow bucket outside a pub; good on him, but Ian_Giles has the pitter-patter of little feet running round his house today (his dog had babies), so I guess he was off.

I'm back to work tomorrow.  It's always tough to start back after some time off, but I really need to, just to burn some of my fat off!

*I cooked the dinner!  >:(
