Did you get some chestnuts on the bonnet in time?
-
What a blow, last thing you need at this time of the year.
You then have the challenge of claiming on your insurance, make sure you get car trade book to see what your car is valued at. This is what the Insurers use but they will give you the knock down price, make sure you get the top price.
Hope you haven't got it on HP as that is a pain as well.
All the best

That red van seems to have a good pump and would that be a pencil jet?

If it had caught light on the hard shoulder you could have had a sing-song round the fire, then you wouldn't get cold! ;D
Good luck with the search for the replacement Dean.

Re: claiming
They should give you the value of the car that it would cost you to replace from a car dealers - not private or auction. Your policy might allow for a hire car too.
They will knock off any excess.
They will allow for mileage giving more for low mileage examples based on 8/10k miles per year.
Get Parkers guide and argue the toss.
I got offered £500 for my 1991 Honda (I reckon it was worth about £250!) in 1996
And a few months ago - £1020 for my 1998 Rover 200 (I reckon it was worth about £750)
-
A few months back my daughter was hit head on by a polish driver who was driving on the wrong side of the road ::) the first insurance offer she rejected, so they made a more resonable offer the second time, and the polish driver was banned from driving with, driving without due care and attention and no insurance, he was also ordered to pay my daughters access fee of £200 plus all the other fines he had, he'll probably bugger off back to his own country before she see's any money from him.
So reject their first offer.
