Title: Double Yellow Lines
Post by: Bonkors on December 21, 2007, 11:46:08 pm
This is a question for you guys who have WFP. Suppose you a cleaning a terraced house that doesnt have a drive and also has double yellow lines. Do you park on the double yellow and clean anyway or do you not use WFP and instead use traditional kit?

It kinda is and isnt. The problem (if it is a problem) may still be there. Do you park further down use a longer pipe, use a backpack or something altogether different?

I believe that parking on zigzags is 3 points as well as a fine.  Parking on certain bus stops is definitely a fine.  My friend says it's 3 points as well but I hadn't heard of that.
Ordinary double yellows need not be a problem.  Although parking is banned 24/7, loading is not (unless a warden tells you to move due to you causing an obstruction or feels that you have parked somewhere potentially unsafe).  If using WFP, you could reasonably state that you are unloading water.
However the things to look out for are any yellow kerb markings which restrict the times when you can load.  Of course, another no-no are red lines for the red routes.  They're much stricter about those.

i don't jobs like that to effect me, only DY  lines,

if i was to cause an obstruction i think it would have to be a backpack or early morning job when no-ones around

I don't have a problem with yellow lines, I went to school with one of the wardens, not that that should make a differance. Over the years I ve got to know most of them by name, they just ask how long am i going to be, I tell them and thats fine.
