Early days, priced a care home £30, took me four hours. drove out the gates and got pinged by coppers for no seatbelt - £30 quid fine. If I had a gun I would have shot him!

£30? still more than Tesco pays for four hours before tax.

Ten years ago when I first started I did two 8 hour days and earned £75! What's worse is I bought this work for 2 x it's amount and it was (fairly) touted as a days work!

So bought for £75, worked for two days and earned £75! Duh!

I used to earn £7.00 for 8 hours work, 21 years ago working in a fruit and veg shop, not window cleaning I know, but its my worst paid job ever.  87 1/2p per hour.

Window cleaning, well, whatever my worse rate is Ive always earnt at least twice what I earnt in the job I left to start this and Id been in my previous job 11 years. Started there at £2.50 an hour which rose to £5.85 as my final hourly rate.

The only way to beat that is to give someone else money to let you work for nothing!

First ever builders clean I priced was for £40 took 3 of us 4 hours to complete, now if I price, its always over the top, if I get it fine, if I don't, its no skin of my nose, because I hate the buggers.

my 1st job was me mates parents bungalow and the old boy next door. I charged them £3.50 each and it took me 3 hours to clean and dry using a sponge and chamois leather. My arms felt like they were going to fall off!!
They take me 10-15 minutes now using wfp.

The trouble is when you start up you can't charge people or price jobs up at £20+ an hour 'cos you are slow and don't know the work. The better hourly rates come from experience of your tools and experience of the job in question.
I 'm still amazed at how quick some jobs are now, even compared to wfp'ing them for a year.
A better pole and brush has shaved more minutes off jobs compared to a couple of months ago. Not rinsing off the window has again cut some times in half.
