what do you think good, bad, ugly?
-
Will it stand out check out your local YP to see other wise in my opinion waste of money
-
so do you like the design or no?
-
It does have to stick out from the crowd will it get lost in the sea of other window cleaners adds mine does ok for me but mine is one of the first on the list and luckly for me all the w/c adds that are bigger and full of colour are on the next page so mine does sort of stick out
Your add shows what you do and how to get you the only thing i would add to it is the area you work in or you may get work way out in an area you dont want unless its a big job of course

In my opinion the box under the 3rd line of your advert is superflous as it makes it a tad cluttered. Also IMO your name dominates the advert reducing the impact of your services.

heres a little trick, it will cost you just a little bit more, becouse it is ringed of, the person looking through it is fooled into thinking that they marked it, it can be as powerful as any big expensive advertiment, it will stand out on the page

Hi
I think that with the removal of that box it's kinder to the eye.
Do others think that the advertiser title is too big or is it just me?
-
i think it catches your eye
am i wrong?
-
it does not have a website address on it :o
thats what I would make stand out on a yp advert
-
im a window cleaner, i figure if they are looking in the yellow pages they will be looking to ring anyways
and i cant be bothered to design one atm, too bogged down designing one for something else
-
You can only see if it stands out when it's on the page amongst all the others.
The red ring helps - you can get one that looks like a hand drawn job with a wide pen or brush. They automatically draw the eye so they are the first thing you notice when you turn the page.

final copy

-
you still forgot the website address :o
final copy
Alex, if you dont want a site now at least get a domain name, and just have contact details on it, you never know in 2 months, the time maybe right, but that add will last for years as people sometimes keep the old yp ;)

print the exact size out and put it in the book to see if it stands out. if not change it.

The context of the advert is pretty much matterless as most businesses will be saying roughly the same thing.
However, generally when people look up in the yellow pages they either already know the company they are looking for and are after the phone number - therefore make your name BIG so they can find you easily.
Or they are looking for someone close to them, so make your telephone number and STD code BIG (always have at least a landline number advertised, it makes people thing you have a office) and also show to a lesser extent, your address and postcode

alex
as ian says get the net on it
