A customer (new) asked if he could have my bank details to pay me direct rather than cheque in post. What do you think?
Never done this before and am hesitant.
One of my custies works at A & Leicester and suggests I use savings acc. as this cannot be accessed for withdrawal.
Any comments?

With the exception of half a dozen customers all mine pay by internet banking....
Giving out your account number is not really an issue....whats the worst that can happen...? They'll put some money in...
Good luck
Dave.

I have quite a few people payonline, by bank transfer, DD, standing order ect. Also Paypal.
I prefer payment this way ;)

we give out business account details. If you are wary of this then as soon as the money has cleared, transfer to a different holding account

Hundreds of our customers have our bank details, makes life much easier

No known issues. If you know of one then say.

They can't withdraw without passwords/pin numbers and personal security info.
I've a few who pay me this way.
But I will accept gold as well - with a name like mine who wouldn't? ;D

i have never had problems with internet banking payments all i gave the customer were the A/c and sort codes wish all my custys paid me that way

Hi All,
Internet Payment is one of my favorite methods of payment ;)
It helped those "busy" customers who seem to forget to write out and send a cheque ::)

Unbelievable, no offense, but I laugh so hard with the occasional person who says, I'm hesitant to give out my account number, who knows what they can do.
There are Two different things,
Card number, and Account number.
Accountnumber and Sortcode, people can only put money IN.
Number on the card itself, along with Expiry date and Security code. Money can be taken OUT.
Obviously you give only your Accountnumber out.
LOL.
