Title: You thought custies were bad?
Post by: Tim Rose on December 06, 2007, 03:25:04 pm
Enough chit chat about bad custies on this site, what about neighbours?

We have a car port and I sometimes hang my scrims on the line underneath it especially when its raining.

Now my neighbour has asked me not to hang scrim on the line there!  I asked him if we could hang our bed linen there and he said that would be fine.

A hand shandy merchant comes to mind.   ::)

(naturally I will now make a point of hanging as much old rags as possible there from now on!)

What about this one http://www.weeklygripe.co.uk/quickgripes.asp?mgID=165

Window cleaners taking us to the cleaners

We used to have a nice little man come around on his bicycle with his ladders, and he charged £3 to clean the windows.  Anyway, I heard that he ended up in prison for stealing from a customer.

I wasn't bothered too much about him going, but then new window cleaner came on the scene.  He has a big transit van with a system to clean the windows using pure de-ionised water.  He wanted to charge me £18 to clean the windows on our house !  Can you believe that?!

He says it's illegal to use ladders, but my aerial erector chap uses ladders.  I've read about other window cleaners earning up to £1000 a day using this system.

Further Information: Many window cleaning businesses are claiming that laws are about to come into force due to European Directive 2001/45/EC that will make ladders illegal for window cleaners, forcing a change to WFP systems.  However, the government denies this stipulation, as ladder use for window cleaning is "low risk and short duration" - source Wikipedia.

stealing form a customer and it sounds like she wants him back. what a stupid old cow.
it dont matter how professional we go, stupid people will always pick the bargain basement. so let them and then we all laugh when the get turned over.
i heard of a bloke who lost 20 customers in one street to someone charging a quarter of his price. the new bloke cleaned once and then did 13 burglarys in the area. the woman who told me lost 20 grand of jewelery, she said she felt so stupid and did not have the heart to ring him. she met him in town and apologized to him. he said that most had rung him trying to get him back
he took great pleasure in telling them all to get lost.

Send all your scrims to an embroidery shop and have each letter of the above embroidered on them, then pin them on your line facing the (http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k23/jeffo_01/w****r.gif)
