How come people get away with this? Surely it's the easiest detection opportunity for plod since speed cameras and school kids scrumping.

We have people trying to con us quite regularly on our online shop. Thankfully we have excellent tracking software which alerts us to unusual activity. I guy in London tried it on 3 times. He had an address for stuff to be delivered to, a BT telephone number. We contacted other suppliers who had fallen for it. The Police weren't interested, BT weren't interested.

Mate of mine works in CID,told me about groups of nigerians working in and around london. He said even when they track back its only to find that the bank account is actually in nigeria..what chance eh?

I noticed from e mail exchanges regarding the Speedster, their command of the English language is a little..... sloppy, which flagged up that they may be SCAMMERS.
I have just deleted 11 scam emails today, aus lottery, update bank details etc etc, what chance would you have if you were a silver surfer?

I feel sorry for Nigerians 99.9% are probably honest people, but you are always hearing about Nigerian crooks.
-
If it's 0.01% are the baddies then you want to see the amount of dodgy mail shots intercepted by the P.O and handed over to the Police.
At one point it was 5 sackfulls per day. I saw it myself at what was then the NCIS in London.
Add to that the e-mails and other scams and it's a major business in Nigeria.

0.01% is a lot of people.

And its a bit optamistic.....if it was only 0.1% you could probably take it on chin.Never mind, he,ll slip up one day...they all do! k
