Just literally received two cancellations within about 5 minutes of each other, one for tomorrow morning, mother has been taken into hospital and one for Thursday morning, decorator won't be finished till Friday!!!
So guess I can have a lie in tomorrow then, Thursday I'm not bothered about cos that will get booked up.
If we were quiet I wouldn't be overly bothered, but the fact that people leave it to the last minute to cancel really annoys me. Earlier I had to book someone in for 17th Dec to be cleaned as that was the only space, when really she was looking this week, but I had no spaces, or so I thought!!!

Got out the habit of telling them 48hr notice. After a recent flurry of cancellations I now give out a sheet at the quote with it all laid out.
Basically 48hrs or £30 charge.
One guy was a window cleaner (who should know better) looked half asleep when I did the quote and he was going to 'be around' on the day.
I suspect he was still in bed when his mrs cancelled. Re-booked and this time rang up day before and siad the landlords say they can't have it cleaned. ::) scummers
There real genuine ones I have no problem with it's the can't be arsed/forgot ones that need a kicking.
Rant over.

Upset a posh builder on saturday when i turned up to clean carpets in 2 bed flat. 7am, pitch black and i let myself as i picked up keys the day before. Confronted by a pile of cleaning gear including Prochem machine. Carpets still damp in places and feeling a bit crispy. Sly look into machine and the rinse water was as blue as the Multi Pro standing next to it..........
Left message for builder to say it was done but i would still be invoicing him £240 for not giving me notice ........ he rang to complain and asked me to rinse it, even though it was 25 mins after my call and i was almost back home.
End result is that i refused to rinse a carpet full of detergent as i do not want my machine blown up for xmas and also found a £60 invoice he still owes me......... ;D
£300 available for pick up on thursday ............... lovely drive to Clapham that was ;)

It is truly amazing what comes out of the wood work we have had 10 of my "close" friends call this week telling girl on the phone that I ( me) would be very upset if they didn't book them in before Christmas.
My wife has got a great line she asks them where they were sat at the wedding as she was there and might remember them!
Cancellation are a pain just be thankful that you can rebook a slot so quickly at this time of year. Lionheart I've got to troll up your way for a scotchgard job tomorrow, if your doing nothing get the kettle on!
10 close friend HA! billy no mates me! especially at Christmas.
Does anyone eles find this rush et all realy spoils it I don't relax and enjoy it till midnight mass, then I have to do a regular boxing day job the next day!!

See knew the Thursday morning would go, suite, lounge and H/S/L.
Paul, give me a call if you're in the area, I've got a leather suite to do in Whitley Bay next week.

The money is handy with all of the costs of kids and family and her! also the taxman likes to take a chunk so it's a neccessary evil, I can just about keep my head above water in this poor part of the world!
Getting back to original question, had 3 cancellations all after each other, leaves you think why did they book in the first place? I always at this time of year put a question mark at the side of he dodgy customers names but at tea time got 3 calls that booked in their place so c'est la vie (that's french you know)
