i use 6mm bore clear pvc using 100psi pump
going to order 30m of braided hose from altec
they do 6.3mm bore and also 5mm
if i use 5mm there will be less weight going up the pole = less
effort in hauling it about
using 5mm --- does it tax the pump+battery a lot
or next to nothing?
-
I have never used 5mm except on the last couple of meters before the pole. I would imagine a long run of it would stress the pump. Its a lot thinner than it sounds.
-
The 5mm will allow 17% less water through it than standard 6mm hose. Up the length of the pole this will not affect it too much but through 30m of it you will notice the difference, but it may be within acceptable limits.
-
wow 17% is a big difference...........1mm only
should stress the pump and battery up to 50% more im guessing
-
I have 55ft of 5mm hose up my pole connecting to minibore, with a 75psi pump (high flow) and my varistream dial is set at 12noon with no problems.
-
I use 5mm on all my pole hoses it`s much better and you can buy it from B&Q,you won`t need to turn your varistream up so high.

some wc i know uses 4mm bore for years no problem
there maybe more drag but lessweight to push
im suspecting its taxing the battery with small bore
