Title: Prespray gold
Post by: davep on December 03, 2007, 07:42:10 pm
Do many of you use Prespray gold on carpet as well as upholstery?

Did a wool mix today and extracted with fibresafe but the results where not so good...

Prespray Gold has to be one of the best presprays around, use it all the time.
With wool and wool mix,I use it with Fibresafe Gold and never let me down.-John

It did bring a load of crap out, the water was black.  Just took a lot of work.   Do you find you need to use quite a lot of it and what kind of dwell time do you have Mr HQ?

Dwell time about long enough for a cup of tea  :)
I find it very economical, and a gallon sorry 4.5 litres goes quite a long way.
If you have a real dirty carpet you can use it warm, seems to bite a bit quicker.-John

I used warm water, the guy from Prochem advises dwell time of 2-5 minutes?

I used warm water....

With PSG i wouldnt use warm water as it has a pretty alarming smell at the best of times, but it does do a good job, especially on white wool.

If you dont think it worked very well, try putting more down. Remember that wool drinks a lot of water on pre-spray and needs much more per metre than synthetics.

One other think i have found is that it works much better if you load it with citraboost.  Not only does it make the smell more "organic", but it does a much better job on the traffic lanes.

I swear by it, use it daily. I may need a lung transplant before I reach 40, but the carpets are clean!

Cheers

Ta lads,

Graeme, i did try putting more down as the carpet did seem to be drinking it up, didn't want to overwet though, interesting about using cold water..

I have never noticed it to smell alarming in any way,or have I been sniffing it for too long :)
To be honest I quite like the aroma, and it seems to work on everything, has to be one of the best on the market.
It is a bit of trial and error with pre-sprays,you need to put enough down without overwetting, but you can be quite genorous with it and not worry, don't pour it on though ;D -John

That's strange, I have always found multipro better than PSG, it's just i don't use it on wool unless I have to.
