Title: pub carpet
Post by: dave balfour on November 15, 2004, 05:31:43 pm
asked a question yesterday about pricing, been offered a pub carpet to clean, seems straight forward apart from one area near entrance, a dark, shiny area of carpet looks bad, landlord has asked if there any chance of doing anything with it

Hi Dave,
Is it a wool carpet?
Have you got a Rotary/ Scrubbing machine?
I ask this question because the shiney area will be hard work unless you
have one. If you have'nt be prepared to sweat!!

Ian.

Dave,
Pre spray with Spitfire, let dwell for 5 minutes extract with hot detergent rinse in ascrubbing action comes completely off, easily.

Dave,

I have cleaned some huge areas of shiny black muck, I used solutions number 2 Heavy Duty to great effect. Simply pre spray at 15-1, aggitate using rotary and fresh water rinse.
This approach will really cut through the black stuff in no time ;D

Dave

In this environment I use Multi-Pro (down to last 30lts) with dwell time and agitation. Then I turn up the heat.

Steve,

I think spitfire is available from Dry fusion 01772 433711.
Multi-pro from prochem.

Anyone one tried double clean(prochem) or solution 2 HD

Mark

ALSO BE CAREFUL NOT TO OVER WET AS PUB CARPET SEAMS ARE VERY FRAGILE AND TEND TO COME APART... THIS IS NOT GOOD WHEN THE SEAM RUNS THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF THE ROOM...

Forgot to add if they have a hard floor butting up to the carpet the only agent I know which wont strip it is Solutions, don’t forget to charge extra for gum.
