Title: Re-coil hose
Post by: lee_dewing on November 23, 2007, 10:52:00 am
I use a freedom trolley with 12metres of 8mm mini bore last 2 months very good.

Was looking through machine mart catalogue offer day air hose section and see 6mm recoil hose (looks like coiled spring, that expands)

was thinking could i use this with my trolley?

15 metres was £8 ish look like plastic not rubber (yellow)
don't know if u could marry up ok with trolley hozlelock connector + pole.

the reason i thought of this is that it might save time gathering ungathering hose, might be good if recoil hose is compact enough.

Is this a stupid idea?
would it put to much strain on the trolley pump.
opions anyone? cheers lee

I tried it years ago, and although it seems like a good idea it is constantly pulling your brush towards the trolley, and is very annoying.

As per previous post, I too have tried simialr without success. I purchased the Hozelock auto reel andr eplaced the hose with microbore - never really lasted.
I now use the quality metal hose reel with microbore and there isn't much difference in time using this reel and it has not given me any grief.

What would be a better idea although expensive is a hose reel that wound up automatically. Say on a quick release mechanism. That would save time and effort.
