Nice.

I did a roof this week and didn't get paid for it.
We agreed a price, I cleaned it, then found she'd gone out. >:(

Hi Mick.

Try using tfr, makes the job so much easier.

Tried some tfr, didnt make any difference. it just literally ran off the muck!!

If you can imagine baked on bird s**t, thats what it was like, i never had one like this before. Also had the tree sap "spots" under it!!

I agree.
I tried many times it when valeting.

It's a waste of time, you're better off with a detergent like flash or jif.

Hi Mick,
You guys must be in the south - in the North I am luck to get £30.00
for the roof and maybe another £10.00 for the sides. Even lost a few quotes at these prices, but refused to go lower.

same here
the most ive charged for a con roof is £80, but that was a big roof. do you clean it with conservatory roof ladders too, or is it just with the pole?

I just use the pole these days.
Used to do it with squeegee on a pole.

Most I've ever charged is about £10 or £15 I think.

Why so little? you can get more than that

What? For 10-20 minutes work?
That's still £30-40 per hour. ???

How much would you charge a 3 bed house that you do in 15 minutes?

I'm not in the habit of ripping people off.
I'd rather have a good reputation.

I have found tfr not to be very effective and vastly overrated on here. Maybe i have the wrong brand or maybe its really a degreaser for traffic film and not an algae remover. I think something more detergent based that lathers up would be better.

i did a seriously green roof the other day with just water, also did a whole houses plastic yesterday again only pure water, is seem's to eat the alge

If your customers outside tap is connected to their hose etc.just keep a constant
Flow of water till ya start breaking down all the encrusted `muck` etc.Brushing
And squeegging etc.till ya get somewhere near then finish off with pure water.
If not,it`s a case of finding any detergent that will have good `cling` and `searching`
Properties in it because of the slope to virtually any conservatory roof. Can anyone
Suggest a product that’s an improvement on tfr, jif, washing powder or anything else
That nearly everyone has said.Everything I`ve used just runs off the glass and into
The gutter before it`s had time to work. Not enough `dwell` time because of that 30
Degree or more slope.I`ve 2 to do next week but nothing like as bad in Mick`s photo.
Replies appreciated.

10-20 mins work on a bad roof is very quick, maybe the other that charge more take there time and do a good job (not saying you dont in anyway before you think it) 10 mins is way to quick for a quality job on a con roof IMO and 20 is pushing it

Like `Squeaky` I`ll repeat my orginal post. It`s what to use to soften up the
Crud and muck, not what ya charging ! No one can do a roof like whats in
Mick`s photo in 10 minutes,perhaps not in an hour and 10 minutes.Everything
Seems to come down to pounds and euros with some.I`ve never started a `flame
War` yet but I guess there`s always a first time.Any takers  ?

You can get a much better brush for rippin through the muck on con roofs and stuff than the standard window one. Vikan do a much harder bristle one which would eat that stuff on that roof wayyyy fatster than the one n the pic. 30 secs to change brush.

I've cleaned hundreds of conservatories, and not come across one like this...in fact, a toothbrush would have been a choice tool to clean it the muck was that thick and solid, as i said, it was like baked on bird s**t!!!

I usually finish a conservatory (top to bottom) in 1 1/2 - 2 hrs, whether i have to use a roof ladder or not.

Do yu know which brush this is, would like to be prepared if i ever get another one like this .

A very high flow of really HOT di water works better on algae than TFR as it loosens it up nicely without the need to wait 10-15 mins for the TFR to loosen the dirt.
