whats best for cleaning inside windows like inside conservatories? and inside patio doors, i have a customer on monday, all outside windows outside conservatory outside patio doors and inside, and inside conservatory.
do you use a chemical spray and scrims? or cloths- i dont want to use an applicator and squeegee as il probably drip water everywhere. waterless would be best.
i can use steps for the consevatory inside, and my trolley for outside.
what do you normally use.

I always use an applicator and squeegee unless they are leaded, just mop up as you go.

I did some insides on friday, it's never as bad as you think it's going to be. Just put scrims or tea towels at the bottom of the window, do it as you would the outside, and clean up from there.

just make sure you have covered where you are working

Me too unless it is imposible to do it this way. If it is then I'd use an atomiser with pure water and a spot of GG3. Spray over the windows and follow up with a microfibre.

use applicator and blade just keep water to mimimum and take an old bath towel to cover under where you are working as son of formby says its never as bad as you think and most customers never complain anyway also make sure you get them to remove all the crap from off the sills first

We do insides all the time; 90% of our residential customers want the insides done each time.
Since that is only 2 times per year, the insides and outsides need it at the same time.
We use old bed sheets to lay on the carpet/floor because they are so large; like a drop cloth that painters use if it is a large area or if you are cleaning ceiling fans or light fixtures in the middle of a room. (or conservatory)
Use minimal moisture with scrubber and squeegee for best results. Just be careful and above all; do not get in a hurry.
It really is pretty easy to do the insides; after you have done them a few times it will be a piece of cake. ;D

jonrob re inside sloping windows if velux or sloping roof cons then okay depending on floor covering problems come with high apex roof cons especially over carpet floors but most i have done are tile or laminate. Did some when starting out but dont do them any more too much like hard work angle so hard water in face etc unless there is a trick to it that someone else knows?

olivercollins smokers!!!! dont they just ruin all your plans for early finish should be set charge for inside at smokers takes twice as long and stinks
-
thanks for the advice, i dont think shes a smoker, just old...
should be fine.

aplicator & squeegee, just ring out the aplicator as much as poss to minimise the amount of water on glass, clear the sills & just mop up. same for roof but if carpeted floor put a big thick sheet down.

Wet the windows up and as you blade off hold the applicator under the blade to catch any water. Will minimize any mess you need to mop up.

don't bother with the sprays. I did the insides of a large conservatory with a wonderful non smear sparkling all singing all dancing spray and an amazing microfibre cloth that was scientifically brilliant. Took the money and waved goodbye then did the same on my windows. As soon as the sun came out you have never seen such a mess in your life! Never called me again can't think why :-\

I use pure water and microfibre cloths - I'm wfp and crap at trad !!!!!

thanks, i think il just use my applicator and ring it out almost dry, then pick up the water as i squeegee off as simon says.
remembering to take my shoes off too!
