Title: heavy black rubber on carpet
Post by: Big_Fish on November 08, 2004, 08:01:47 pm
Hello,

Industrial type carpet in a kitchen with thick, heavy black rubber mark off of the backing of an old mat that had welded itself to the carpet. Can scrape up some but it's fixed into the carpet and gone solid.

Any idea how to get rid?

Cheers

Big Fish,

Try your range of solvents, acetone , white spirit, alcohol etc.

Rubbers are not very soluble in anything but most solvents will soften/ loosen them so you can extract out.

Cheers,
