Ive been struggling with con roofs here and there and under advice from some ppl on here I got myself some tfr on friday! I'm just wondering if its the same sort of stuff you all use though, when I was in the shop I noticed there were two diff types of tfr on the shelf one was a standard strength and one was a high strength and you can buy either of which in a 5ltr tub or a barrel of it which is probably 25ltr (at a guess). After chatting to the assistant I chose the stonger strength one of the two as in the end it'll last longer. He said to use it in a pressure washer or in a sprayer I would have to dilute it 4-1 because if I used it neat, it would blow the seals on my pressure washer/sprayer :o (sounds evil lol)
Is this the same type you use?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hozelock-Porta-Flower-Shower/dp/B000PBUFHC and I bought this the other day to use to spray the con roofs
will it be any good??
thanks
Denis ;)

Well my tfr is non-caustic & has a dilute ratio of 20:1.

is this caustic stuff any good then or is it better to have non caustic?

Not sure, i took advise from this forum & ordered 25ltr of non-caustic tfr from smaterworld, think it was 33 quid inc vat & delivery. with a 20:1 ratio it'll last ages. used it a few times now on con' & glass roofs & boy, what a difference it makes. the green stuff just slips off! ;)

Do you still have to scrub a bit or is it more magical than that i.e just a quick hose of? :)

I've been using caustic for ages now with no problems, when I reordered I asked the supplier to get me non caustic but he said what we use it for (upvc, con roofs etc) I would be disappointed and to stick with caustic as its fine as long as diluted correctly.

I've never tried just hosing off but with wfp you just have to lightly move the brush up & down. did 2 roof panels side by side, 1 with tfr, 1 without. like chalk & cheese, wouldn't consider a dirty roof without tfr now to be honest.

cheers Tony, cant wait to test it out ;)

have a look at www.autoday.co.uk
try to get the non caustic a lot safer
25 ltr power force £21 plus vat but it is biodegradable customers like to hear that

Yeah, good idea! and also a lot safer for myself to use too ;)
cheers

How do you apply TFR lads? Is it just sprayed on first?
-
I have one of those hozelock sprayers, and they are excellent for using tfr on con roofs, holds plenty and you can hold it well away from your face, as it has a good reach.

I guess that means you spray it on??? ???

sprayed on with garden sprayer, got mine from aldi, 8 quid but to be honest it's not much cop, i'll be getting a hozelok one next. it's better to have one with a short lance.

Glad I bought a hozelock one then ;) got another con roof to do soon so be testing my new kit out then 8)
I was thinking of offering one of my custys a freeby, just to try it out lol

Just make sure you wear eye protection as you do not want to get any tfr on your face when using your sprayer.

....or your hands, even when diluted,

does the same apply to the non caustic version?
