Clean It Up

Hello all. I've been away from this forum for a bit, but i just wanted to say something that many of you won't need reminding of.
I've been running my own round for roughly ten years, but last year, i started to get a bit jaded with it all, and decided that i needed to get a "proper" job. I took a job as a carer, which i really enjoyed, and thought i'd pack in the windows for good.
The thing is, i soon realized that i had no chance of surviving on the wage they were paying me, so i kept on a few customers.
As of last month, i was bringing in more money from my 10 hours of window cleaning each week than i was from 40 hours at my "proper" job.
It became hard to ignore this glaring fact, and as i slogged my guts out at this job, i really started to miss my old life. Anyway, i'm waffling now, so i just wanted to tell anyone who may gat a bit bored with window cleaning to think about the plus points:
1. Decent money! Depending on where you live, 20 - 30 £ per hour isn't bad!!
2. FREEDOM! Being your own boss and not having some half-wit telling you what to do all the time is sheer bliss...
3. The fresh air...ahhhhh. ( i really missed that alot too.)
And finally...
4. Fairy soft hands.
Seriously though, I know it can get a bit boring sometimes (that's what mp3 players are for), but we have one of the BEST jobs going.
That is all.

I could not do a real job again , getting paid for something you like doing, cant beat it .

I often get disillusioned with this job and think about getting a 'proper job' then i wake up and realise their is no way i could earn the money in the time i do in such a job and also the fact is now after so many years of self employment i could not work for someone else and having orders barked at me by some snotty nose kid(now i sound like my old man) ;D
Sends shudders down my back ;D

Precisely! By the way, i forgot to mention that all this thinking resulted in me handing in my month's notice yesterday.
Just 4 more weeks and i'll be FREE AGAIN!!!!

Counting down the days starts now ;D
Where in the borders are you?

Trad. I put the idea of WFP to my customers, but none liked the idea of it. Haven't heard 100% positive things about the results either.

Are you the w/c i met on sunlaws estate with old transit minibus, knackered old ladders & didn't do any detailing?

Sorry mate, no. Hate to let you down. ;D

I will give you a 100% positve answer, I started wfp last week, the shine on windows is far better than trad, you can clean the frames at the same time and everyone that I have cleaned so far is over the moon, some even put the price up for next time ;D

im with windowwashers on this wfp i did trad for some years but the best thing i did was go wfp around 16 months ago . its the way to go :)
