I'm wfp(14 months) and just switched to a vikan hi-low brush straight filaments the non fluffy one.
Had a few leaded windows to do this week and leads been peeling off thankfully been able to push back in place has anyone else experienced this is it a case of the brush being
1. too course ( dosen't feel that stiff :o)
2. im pushing to hard.
3. does the pure water eat away at the glue on modern leaded windows?
4. it just happens as it did when clening trad with scrim?
I'm just concern if customer see's it will get blamed on me and my wfp system.
also has anyone had a grilling from people with wooden windows i.e they'll rot away, i just say that if the windows are in condition it won't harm them it is only water and it's less harmfull than rainwater.
any opinions anyone thanks lee

whwen i was trad cleaning this happened all the time, so I would not blame the wfp for it, let the customers know that the lead is peeling and ask them to have it fixed as the longer they leave it the worse it will get.

Not sure wether to point out or not as i'l probably cop the blame for it how do you think you can expain this without coping a boll*cking ;D

I personaly would tell them at least they can sort it if needbe, why would they give you a bollocking if you didnt do it, or do you ::)?

exactly. It's always the window cleaners fault!
I am also responsible for the weather, in my local area :D today mostly dry.

Regarding the wooden frames. Had a customer with a white painted wooden conservatory, really bad condition. When I took them on the wood was all polyfilled and painted and very holey, did them trad for about 3 years. Done them wfp for 9 cleans last time around there was a sign in the garden saying no windows as water is rotting the frames (thanks for the phone call).
Saw the man on Wednesday as he was near another job I was doing, he come up to me and said that the water was rotting his frames I just said they were all polyfilled and rotten when I started over 3 years ago. Did us a big favor as his garden was a nightmare and it was a 1 bungalow stop on a very busy day.

If you have to you can superglue or araldite the lead back on? just make sure the glue does not ozz out beyond the lead.
If they do moan and want you to repair it, go to Argos and buy a roll of stick on lead it is very good stuff, I had it on my pourch for 7 years and no problems.
