my 300gpd unit reads 355 in tds and 014 out tds, does that mean i live in a hard water area? will the di resin take it down to 000?

your di resin will take it down to 000 but check that your resin is not spent test after di just to be on the safe side :)

why arent you at work! :-)
my reading has slowly gone down over 10 minutes running to 250 in tds- with a nice happy 007 out tds

Sounds like your RO Unit is working fine. You're obviously in a hard water area (however there are worse than you). The first 10 minutes of use will always show up higher input and output tds on any RO Unit which is why, if at all possible, it is best to flush your RO Unit for the first ten minutes of fresh use. This will help prolong the DI resin.

oh thanks alex, the instructions said to run it for 2 hours before using the water but i didnt know to turn the flush tap on. i will do this for a while before using it. How often should i flush the system and how long for?
thanks

If possible, flush the system for about 5 minutes before each fresh fill. To do this, locate the flush valve and turn to the open position.

great, thanks - thats fine

Thread hi-jack: thanks for the pipe Alex, am using the silicone at the moment, really like it but it doesn't grip on the jets as tightly as pvc. but is far more flexible.

Glad you got it. I posted it while I was on Holiday. I thought that the silicone would just fit, wasn't sure.
