Could I collect some views on what you believe provides the best mechanical agitation. Charlie Payne swears by bonnets and others have told me envirodri (who are based just a mile away from where I have just moved to, found out today)
What do you think?

There's no definitive answer, but a good rule of thumb is Envirodri (warranty voided?) for resdential style cut pile, and a rotary machine for low profile. Don't restrict yourself to just a bonnet. Sometimes a pad can be effective, or a rotary brush depending on all the usual variables. Rotary can also be more cost effective time wise if used with care on, for example, pubs, restaurants etc.

Pete check with envirodri as I was speaking to Mike Hall(envirodri sales) last week who seems to think that the warranty is not void if used for agitating pre-sprays.His way of thinking is you use the machine to agitate the envirodri pre-clean so why not another make?
He was going to consult Gill about this?

Paul that was the old machine,thats why he was taking another look at the warranty issue for me as the new machines are different.

Casing different,gearing different only passing on what I was told that's why I suggest Pete contacts them direct to confirm warranty issue.

That's what Mike told me when i bought mine, but i would get it in writing just to be sure.
Pete, if you've got somewhere suitable for a demo, Mike will come and show you it being used with the sponges. Very impressive.

They needed to sort all that out and im glad to say the white brushes as well,the new ones are much better. Its just a pity you have to fork out £900 quid ago for it.
If only they had got it right in the firstplace ::)

Perhaps you, Paul, have been unfortunate.
Theres a guy on the general cleaning section who has had an Envirodri for 4 years or more and all its had is a set of bearings. Thats not bad seeing he uses it very frequently as his main carpet cleaning machine doing end of tenancy cleans - not nice.
And Mike Hall told me warranty Ok too because thats what you do with the sponges anyway - agitate.

Joe, if your talking about martin606? Then he uses the envirodri as a dry system, as i do and it does a first class job.

I really must get into it - Martin is really enthsiastic about it and the results and he sounds a genuine guy.
Its just taking that step to spend time getting your system right.
I know that may sound daft because after all you"just sprinkle the sponges about, run the Envirodri over, sit down for 30minutes, then vacuum up".
But like everything else you get comfortable with a "system" of your own.
and I have not yet spent that time getting in to it, comfortable with the HWE.
Its the same to some extent with my Dry Fusion system, but not as bad as I used to have the Texatherm machine.
Could try the Envirodri today as I am in a 2nd floor flat, no lift, too heavy for my CFR500 to get up stairs by myself
BUT its low profile carpet so best suited for the DF.
Another time for the Envirodri.
How often do you use yours as a comparison to other machines you may have?

Yep EnviroDri now for 4 years and still very happy and more importantly customers are still happy.
For you guys that use the sponges, I spoke with Lorna yesterday (enviroDri sales) and they now have a 10% off all products until January.
Last year I got a box of 24x500g of sponges free, give them a call and see whats on offer, might get 10% off of a machine?

Pete, I have been using the envirodri for agitating pre sprays for a few years now. I use it on most every job for domestics and it also does stairs a treat. For large commercial area's I would go for a rotary with either bonnet or brushes depending on job. I would not be too concerned about the warranty issue, it will more than cope with the sprays, there is not too much that can go wrong with them.

The latest machine is about £860 + vat, so it sounds a good deal.
Any brushes with it? - a set costs about £90 +VAT new and there are 5 sets in the range (if you need them all)
