With the Xmas onslaught well on
What time of day do you start and finish?
What time of day do you atart and finish at nonXmas period?
What I'm really asking is what do you see as being acceptable to your life, I try to mayke it to the first job at 8am and be home for 5.30, at Xmas 6.30 is the norm.

I always mention 8am to see if I can get an early start, but never work after 3.30 I'd rather book the extra work into the weekend.
it''ll be 6day weeks from now until xmas eve

Carpets generally from 08:30 - 17:00, but I've got two vans doing carpets now so that has seriously eased the hours. Sometimes start early for commercial or finish late or even through the night.
Windows 07:30 - 16:00
Offices 07:30 - 19:30 (different teams)

Shaun its always been a 6 day week but now its all carpet cleaning (the saturday was pressure washing)
but surprised i'm stil getting P/W work coming in.

Non- christmas 9.30 to 5.00 but this allows me to book emergency jobs in for 8.00 the next day.
Christmas it can often be in custy's house for 7.30am and leaving last job at 7.30pm
Worst Christmas was my first Christmas for last 3 days work I was in custy's at 7.00am and getting home about 10.00pm. Getting the work wasn't the probles; keeping up with it was!
It paid the bills for my first year. What a shock was how quiet my first January was!

I have a figure that I like to reach each day, so whatever it takes!
Cheers

7am to 1pm ....................... will do other hours as needed but these are the averages.
Weekends normally set aside for Parliament and can be both days ::)

I used to start work at 9 o'clock, but I found I would spend at least 20 minutes sitting in traffic, because of the school run.
I now start at 930, and am normally finished by 430, we don't stop for lunch (by the way when I say we I mean two of us) i took on an extra worker two years ago when I had a heart attack.
we take it in turns to have a rest and some refreshment, this works very well and sometimes we can manage a week's work in three to four days.
As for Christmas, save every penny you get, because you're definitely need it in January/February.
All the best Ted 8)

i always start the first job at 8.30am but this time of year i'm looking to finish mid-afternoon, i don't like cleaning without some natural light, it's ok in an office with strip lights but i have been is some domestics where the only light is a standard lamp in the corner of the room! the last thing i need is to be called back because i 'missed a bit', anyway, it's my excuse for a slow down after the long days of the summer.
