I live at the top of a dead end road with no exclusive parking space, not usually a problem if I double park up at night to fill my 250 ltr van mounted tank, but get this.
Just got a letter through from water board notifying me that as of Monday 5 th November the whole road will be closed due to sewage repairs for approx. 3 weeks (yeh right why not say a month!). How unlucky is that? >:( :( :'(

That means you have a week, gonna have to find some Storage space and start filling some 1000L ibc's :o

Is their anyone near you that could sort you out with some water for a few weeks?

Proabably you will arrive at a better solution but this is the worst case, and will solve the problem.
Fill 25Litre containers and get your wife to carry them down to the van. As an incentive tell her that if she finishes before 7.30 she can still watch coronation street.

If you have a friend or family member who has soft'ish water you could invest in a DI vessel, fill your tank with their tap water & pump through DI in van.

rang my old boss who got me into wfp.
Asked nicely if I can fill up at his. Just goes to show you never know when you may need to call in a favour and pays to stay on good terms with people ;)
I hope the collapsed drain has nothing to do with the excessive waste output from my merlin lol ;D
Incidentally at the very top of my road are atleast 3 firms employing probably 20 people or so, one being a mail order instrument suppliers, they have deliveries in huge trucks all day long reversing up my narrow road( thats probably what caused the collapsed drain). They wont be able to work at all and I imagine there will be some compensation to them, but what about me if I werent able to do my work? thereoretically do you think I'd have had a case? most of my work is'nt suitable for ladders and the high reach wfp market is what my business is based upon.

hhmmmmmm, I have thought about it, and had my ex boss not obliged to help me out my predicament would have been alot worse, although I am on a water meter with the recent hysteria around possible wfp bans during droughts I'm very shy to say the least at highlighting myself towards the water company, so the question remains hyperthetical really, although if this kind gesture had not been available to me I'd have had no choice, that or no work for a month.
