1: is it easy to use?
2: will I really have to type all my customers info in maually because they are in an ms exel format at the mo.
3: If you had an "extra info" bit on your excel worksheet like "includes conservatory", will there be a section on your george worksheet for this so you cant forget the extras at work?
4: is there a one click debt list?
5: does it ever make mistakes or go wrong?
6: can your daily worksheet be in any order you want e.g by house number in ascending order, or maybe in order of value etc?
7: once all your data has been put into george including the interval of each job, will it let you know when each job is due around the time?

Are they ever going to do a version that can be used on a hand held pc running windows? They do the version for a pda but not a hand held computer.
If they released that, then I would defenatly buy a copy, my hand held talks to ms Excel on my main computer, but would love to have george, its no good me running 2 different programmes to run my business.
Come on George make a version for the Handhelp PC. ;)
-
I secound that!!

Couldn't work without it. Can't imagine what I did before George

5 the answer is YES
-
Hi
2 & 6 are a No.
5 is an occasional problem...
One of the reasons we don't support the PocketPC is because Microsoft keep b*ggering about with it. In the last version they ripped out the database system and replaced it with another one. That would mean we would have to have at least 2 version (at the moment) and keeping them all up to date would be a problem.
We support the Palm because it's cheap, reliable and consistent.

Good reply,
For those who dont know Paul gives service and back up, second to none , if you are unfortunaate like me and suffer the odd glitch, Paul is always on hand to sort out your problem and normally has a fix in less than 24 hours.

Why not have a look on George website and look at the user group , it will tell you everything you need to know.

Thanks Paul
I do understand your problem, I'm sure if you ever get it sorted you will get a lot more buyers.
I would love a copy, but using ms on my pc and pocket pc they work fine,
I did try to put pocket george on my handheld but it wouldn't have it.
Come on Paul Think about it ;) ;) ;)

Still got to be the best £50 we've ever invested, get yourself a Palm PDA and run the Pocket George system, that's when it really comes into it's own.
We run two, sometimes 3 PDA's daily and it saves a massive amount of time when totalling up for the day.
I would like No 6 to be a YES, we have some estates that are 100+ properties and finding them quickly can be a problem if they are not in numerical order.
Would also like to be able to mark off debts on the PDA from the round screen rather than having to go into the DEBTS screen.

why arent they in numerical order? I thought you can sort them into numerical order with george? ???
-
You arrange the round order in the way you want it, then it stays in that order unless you change it manually. Hope that makes sense :)
-
it does mate, cheers. Im looking forward to using it now.I'm not looking forward to putting all my customers info in one by one though lol, good job Ive only got 120 customers ;D it could be worse eh!
-
I had over 300 when i entered mine, i put 1 years job history in it as well . took me about 50 hours
-
that sounds horrific :o
