If it wasn't so big and heavy I'd keep it in the garage with the kids :o

The rhetoric at the bottom which says that if its not sold it will be broken up, says it all and is probably the most sensible for a machine like that
-
Depends how good you are at fixing and maintaining things,at £1k and if it gets you 2 years work its a good investment.
-
2 years work! Yes probably 1 year of that fixing & maintaining it and the other actually working at what it is meant to do. Although I did hear someone who had one say you could service it with a knife & fork
-
for £1k you'll not get 2 years work out of an illegal immigrant so it would be money well spent.

I thought that those were the ones that paid you for getting them into the country in the first place, Shaun
-
I wouldn't know about that ocifer.

When i was down at woodbridge having my machine sorted out a few weeks ago there was a bloke there from London with one of the same machines. He said he might as well have a bed at woodbridges as he spends so much time there getting it fixed!
He'd had a new engine, blower, heat exchanger, pump and every main component replaced in the last couple of years. Said it would have been cheaper to replace it with a new panther.
Its cheap for a grand but how much will it cost to keep it running and how many expensive trips to woodbnridge will you have to make and lost days work.
Too many I think!
All the best,
Jason.

Already needs Fenner coupling don't know cost of that but the seller has feedback of 80%
-
Well picked up on feedback Steve.
but he has done 5 transactions of which 4 have very good positive feedback.
The 5th when he got a negative, looks like he changed mind for whatever reason and did not sell. Bit naughty but not as if he told porkys about the condition of something.
Personally I look for lots of +ve feedback, especially if I am not able to visirt to collect and have to rely on the seller being honest.
Been caught out couple of times. Once complete hassle, the other - PAYPAL got all my money back and the seller never bothered to ask for the goods to be returned - not that they were any good.

if this guy lived closer I would buy this machine in a second, I spoke to him last month when he rang me to ask if i was interested in the machine ( he's a friend of Paul Elliot)
he was very honest about the machine, it works perfectly apart from the engine-blower coupling which has to be aligned by sight which isn't very accurate, so they don't last very long. I've found that if you do the best you can then turn the machine over before tightening the blower down it can alight itself. as long as the height is correct.
or if there is room go 4 sizes too big then you can't get it wrong because the misalighnment is so obvious the bigger the coupling you fit.
-
ps; the coupling cost £40-£80 depending how big you go
-
if anyone buys it near me I'll do it for them, for a small fee ;) ;).
but you need to ask for a photo of the coupling to see what size they've fitted already.

Glad to see Mike has some common sense, but then again he's from the same mould.
If this was not down south it would be in my garage right now.
Any body with a bit about them has got a bargain ;)
-
How can you say that Paul. The guy is already advertising this machine for the breakers yard on another forum. Surely he must be the one who knows best which way it is going to realise the best chance of a sale
-
so is it worth making him an offer mike?
I was considering a bid , but as you know not the most mechenicaly minded :)
geoff

Geoff, its definitely talking to him on the phone, it's if you are willing to go and get it.
Paul he's thinking of breaking it because he knows everyone think these machines are a load of crap, so won't get a buyer

Why does everybody who reckons this is a steal keep going on about delivery or having to collect it? The guy quite clearly says on his E-bay post that he will arrange delivery to anyone who purchases
-
just wish he'd reply to my emails !
-
Well I see you bought it in the end Paul, or is that not your ebay name?
-
nope not me, someone got a bargin, the engine is probably worth that.
-
Deal must have fallen thru, has been relisted,
Andrew.
-
I mailed him asking a few questions :-X
but, no replys ???
