Quite often.
One custy pays by internet so I don't have to bother him but when I ring bell to warn I'm there I seldom get an answer even though two mercs on drive. One day half way through go round front chief constable of our county is there.
"Is he in, I've been ringing but either no ones in or he's ignoring me. I have some papers for him?" He asked me.
"He's probably out, but he always ignores me anyway."
Policeman went, and I think he must be out and I'm bursting for the loo. So discreetly i relax things shall we say, and thats when i hear the sink drain being used. Bugger.

If they were good at it you'd not know surely.

Ive started cleaning at the front and made my way around to the back and by the time I finish the buggers have got in their car and drove off. How rude?

The same happened to me once. It was Winter, windy and I was wanting to get to the next house so I could keep moving to keep warm; so when I knocked for payment and didn't receive an answer I knocked, and knocked again. Still no answer.
It was freezing and it took a couple of minutes for the penny to drop and I'd realised she'd just buggered off without paying me; and there's me hanging about on her doorstep, brass-monkey style. Now it was always difficult to get payment from this customer.
I was so cross I didn't know whether to 'poo' or turn blind.
I eventually was paid; I didn't say anything; I just didn't go back. Two-or-three months later she bumped into me and with a big smile asked me when I was going clean her windows!!!
I was polite and professional; but she left after our 'one-way conversation' not looking so happy; and I smiled!
Dissapearing customers; that's a big pet hate of mine (depending on the circumstances though).

my point was it will more than likely happen in the future, I am guessing you will get new customers in the future ;)

Quite easy , dont collect. Give them the choice to
leave the money in a arranged place, send you a cheque, or use paypal
