Gave a quote to day and did it a bit cheaper myself as workload is as up and down as a wh0res draws.
Lounge, Bedroom, Entrance hall, Landing, Stairs and an oriental rug.
She said firm she had used before's no. was now not recognised. I quoted £105. She said they did all that for £40 :o
She then asked why there was so much difference and when I told her the process she said "oh I see, he only did the last bit of what you said".
"there you go" I said.
These people are part & parcel. Just remember the nice little touches you get and it will all seem worth while.

Hi Guys
John as you become more confident you will be able to convince more customers of the point if having it cleaned properly.
Look at the 60 Pounds, even a splash and dash must take 90 mins so he is making 40/hour, less all his expenses and quoting time so he will be lucky to get 10/hour, might as well get a job !
So the other quoter is making little money , the customer is getting a rushed and probably pretty useless job, so not much point in any of it.
Pete is right just keep plugging away and the silly priced jobs will become irrelevant.

But £10 an hour is probably more than he could earn if he was employed so he will be laughing

Yeah but not a consistent 7 hours a day Steve coz it just don't work like that til you've been around as long as you have.

doug lol were u get the fig 30 pounds a hour expences lol ?

It's a bit more complicated than that.
90 mins job
60 mins quote inc driving therefore he is taking less than 20p/h BUT then there are the fixed costs
Insurance, Van wear and Tear, loans on Machine/vans and variable ones like Tax/NI, chemicals, repairs etc
One of the main reasons most don't make it in CC is that they ignore the true business costs.

Hi
If you only needed say 5 enquires a week, you would concentate you marketing and the quality of each lead would go up.
Because you need 20 enquires a week you are spreading the net wider & getting more lets face it timewasters.

My out goings in my last financial year were £500 a week over a 5 hour WORKING day at the wand that's £20 an hour that's providing you have work on every day all day, I've been going for 15 years so yes I have.
