Post by: Bobs Window Cleaning on October 14, 2007, 10:05:52 am
Morning all.

Getting ready for my Van setup and going to get a battery today.

Been told to go to a Caravan shop and buy a deep cycle one ???

Would it be better to go and get one from Halfords and which one should I get?

doh a bit far from me lol, 200 miles!

try and get yourself a hold of a trade card at halfords. go in and ask about them. if you can "somehow" produce a pay slip proving you are in the trade youll get one.

batteries well cheap then

Bob,

Try to go for a 110amp the higher the better, I got mine from a car shop £70, but it keeps going for a week, then just charge at the weekend perfect for me ;D ;D

Hi Bod,

There is a caravan shop opposite Machine Mart on Heigham St, they do both 85 / 110amp leisure batteries.

If i remember my 85 amp cost around £30,00 inc vat, there 110 amp cost around £55.00 / £65.00.

You could also try Panks with is the other end of Heigham St.

Dont want to use the Alternator because I have been told you need to do alot of miles to keep the deep cycle battery charged.

Use this link.

http://www.batterymegastore.co.uk/cgi-bin/megastore/commerce.cgi?product=Batteries_Industrial!12_Volt

Best value for money Battery out there. It will last 5 times longer then a battery you get from a caravan shop. These Batteries are pure quality. I have 2 x us27tmx 120 amps.

Its delivered in the price.

if you want it to go to the alternator have another one fitted as they are made to only charge 1 battery otherwise a van would have 2 would it not  ;)
