Title: Oxidised glass any ideas???
Post by: Rob_Mac on October 14, 2007, 09:09:14 am
Got a job to clean oxidised windows on a supermarket roof.

There are heat blinds in front of the glass to protect in high temperatures - but these are fixed and stuck on open.

We have nine ribs of 50 x 1 metre by 1.5 metre runs of glass all in the same condition.

They have all been citrus cleaner presoaked, jet washed, they have had a descale applied and rinsed off and have been cleaned traditionally.

Nothing has worked - I need to find a formula that will allow me to prespray and rinse off.

To do by hand would take about 20 - 30 minutes each unit times by 450 units - there are eight slats across each window with clearance of about 25mm.

Anyone got any experience of cleaning anything like this

I am presuming that the grey bloom is aluminium oxide as the units are surrounded by the stuff
