Yesterday I was rained off (my choice) which meant my work started to back up a little so today I had to work hard, out by eight thirty, no chatting, lunch on the move (driving between jobs) and finish at four thirty - late for me. I was quite supprised by my earnings - no point in bragging. If I had that volume of work every day then my annual income would be quite impressive. I need more work. :)
-
I know what you mean, I have done the same today because of yesterdays rain, and have recently been trying to adopt a different work ethic. Instead of doing what is just an average wage in an exceedingly small number of hours Im now trying to be sure I do about 6 hours work and take home the extra, so more jobs needed.
Thing is Ive picked up about £500.00 worth of new in the last 2 months ;D

Out by 8.30, ::)
I'm started by 7.45 every day. ;D
You should try it, by midday i've done loads.
-
Mind you I had no first cleans today - they slow you down, tire you out and I always underprice them.

Is that on houses?? or comercial??
Spose when i get my WFP on the road i could start at that time:p jus dont think people would like my head poping up to say hello at 7.45 ;D

Hi Dave.
I'm Wfp now but even when i was trad i was started by 8.
All my work is domestic.
If a customer makes a comment about it better because my head is not up there i
just tell them there is a camara on the end of the pole so i can check my work.
Their face is a picture untill i laugh. ;D

hi, new to this forum.
every morning i start my 1st job at 7.30 and work solid through to 5.30 and i too eat on the go this is the norm for me. ive been through 4 lads working for me in 1 year cos they cant keep with the pace. im surprised to hear you guys who actually own the business not working like this. whats wrong with everyone, its not hard work especially now with water fed pole.
if you not got enough work to do that and its spaced out then compact as much as you can into a full day (9/10hrs) and have full days off to do whatever. i phone companies from yellow pages offering my services during the morning and from 4-8pm canvass residential areas.
your running a business so run it properly and make it the best it can be. doing this i doubled my yearly salary in about 6months and im nothing special, ive just got the most important quality in running a business...... DRIVE!
just go for it lads, your not cleaning windows for fun.

Hold on a minute buddy, I have other things going on that I value more than my work.
-
i always work 7.30- 5 except winter when its 8-4.30 & thats just cos its dark,
but i dnt do weekends anymore, that time is mine
i still cant keep up with my work
ive been trading nearly 20 yrs & still get new work every week,
early starts are the same customers every time i no who's up early & who's not so plan my work around that,
-
YEH SO DO I. most people work full time for an employer so all the more reason to work full time on your own business and if you can stretch it a bit more. like i said its not really hard work or rocket science. i just know alot of people who give window cleaners a bad name cos they cant be arsed in working. does my head in!

some of you guy's have got to get out more!!!. I used to work all the hours god sends and the only person enjoying the money was the missus. The idea of self employment, for me , is to work as little as possible, for as much as possible in as little a time as possible

Crazy person alert!!!
10 hours a day, every day????
I'd end up in hospital from exhaustion!!!
I earn plenty in the 6 or so hours a day I work,.. and get to spend time with the family too.
Whatever does it for you I supposes J DEMARCO!!!!

I think you have just inspired me again.
I have got lazy, letting my staff do everything.
About once a year a post comes along which hits the right nerve for my business to progress , and yours is the one this year my friend.

Nice bit of enthusiasm there Mr Demarco. I haven't put in as much effort as you but what I have done is paying off. Picked up ten new jobs this week so far and I wasn't even looking for them. They're reasonable sized ones for domestic too (except for one smaller one).

so how many houses do you guys do in a day?? and i mean 3 bed semmis or detatched and what would be an average price I should be aiming to earn
this is a seriouse enquirey
