Been approached to advertise on appointment cards issued by the LOCAL medical centre.
4 businesses per card so cant see there will be a lot of space.
Cost £175 + vat for 20,000
To me that is £205 as I am not VAT registered - dont turnover enough :(
Compared to cost of leaflets it seems good
Leaflets can say more....but need distributiong....and are often discarded quickly
but appointment card will be a small advert
Your voting appreciated and your comments welcome
Is it worth it
Will I get a payback

You get inundated with this type of offer. It sounds ok but if you took up every one you would be a very poor cc. Generally they are a complete waste of time.
Remember the person making the offer is trying to sell advertising space NOT grow your business.

I tried the same thing last year, was a 2 year deal and still waiting for the fist inquiry.

plus you'd be working around sick people, trying to avoid that myself, as mum is having chemo and if I catch a cold I cannot see her as it could kill her. Make you really conciouse for people snezzing near you.

I have a 2 year contract with a company where i have a advert on a appointment cards for the Kings group estate agents for my area, the cards were available from March which I have not had 1 lead from them so far,but it did seem like a good idea at the time. :-\

Had business cards in the local Sainsbury's for a year. Two enquiries. After the year was up they left our cards in the holders for a further year and a half just to make the board look as if it was full. Result? No further enquiries in a year and a half.

I'm not sure that advertising on medical appointment cards is really the best idea.
You can just imagine someone who has Flu or a bout of Migraine looking at their appointment card and saying, "that reminds me, I must get the carpet cleaned"! :o :D

It would be a good idea if you sell mobility products or some sort of alternative therapy.
Maybe better to approach surgery directly that hasn't done it yet offer to print their cards for free.
I've dropped off the Mrs' old Good Food magazines at docs and dentists with an advert for comp therapy, but could work for CC.

why do these kind of posts come up "after" i sign the contract lol, i have just done two of these types of advertising as i thought they would look promising, 1 to go on to two estate agents appointment cards and another into a takeaway menu.
The takeaway menu i thought would be a waste of time but was still prepared to give it a go. But the estate agents i thought looked promising, it was quoted £150 + vat per year for two years for just the one estate agent, but i got it down to £170+vat per year for two years to be in both estate agents, and they are about 15 miles apart 1 in each of the main towns i cover so i didn't think it was too bad.
They haven't started yet but its too late to turn back lol, so i'll have to grin and bear the results and let you know how it works out
