lets have a real debate about this because we really need to know, after all its THE main tool along with a pole ..lol...
but as regards our industry we really need to know what to use for the best, ive heard Vikan are the best .. and worst... ionics... autobrushes, ,, some people swear by cleantechs own brand,
bentley brush is another.
i use flocked vikan, very good until i come up against anything like hard bird poo,
i also have a bentley brush... ok but the bristles fall out on the glass.... and they wear away quick...
so come on the experienced guys...
what do you employers send your guys out with?
or sole trader.... what works the very very best....
its not personal choice, apart from weight....
Just which brush is the best for us all to work with.?
Gray.

Glad you asked that cause I was wondering that too

tucker 8)
i know people that have used them and they look grest
facelift are doing a new one sometime in the future should be excellent from what i hear
i use ionics not a bad brush but curl up very quick but i also use a vikan oblong on my ex-tel pole that is my preferred brush at the moment

I use a Vikan monofiliment for my facelift pole and Vikan splayed(oval) for my short poles....
I think they are well worth the money I paid for them and as they have not caused me any problems I shall stick with the devil I know and am used to.
I have not used any other brushes say am unable to make any comparisions.

I have a 12" tucker brush and it is great. Never loses shape and is tough enough. A very good all rounder IMO.
I use a vikan oblong for most residential and cant fault it. Have a cleantech own brand but hardly used it. A softer brush I find better for leaded windows esp the very old type as I can be a little heavy handed lol.
Have an 18" Ionics double trim and although only used it once it seems fine but I dont think it will hold its shape well.
I trhink it really depends on personal preference and for what applications you are using them for.

Where do you get the Tucker brushes from? Personally I currently use the Cleantech brush seems a good all rounder.
-
NO COMPETITION ITS GOT TO BE TUCKER sorry bout that caps lock was on!

Don't know if many people know this but vikan flocked brushes come in 3 different grades- soft, medium & hard.
I use a vikan rectangular medium-flocked, rectangular monofilament & a rectangular soft.
The medium flocked is a great all-rounder especially for regular maintainence cleans, the soft flocked is perfect for thin, old glass, leaded or georgian & the mono' is good for first cleans, minging cleans, regular & con' roofs. Each of these brushes cut right into the corners, have good flow through & perfect results are acheived without cleaning the top frame.
The stock (black plastic) of these brushes is quite bulky mind so to make them better you can grind/shave all the excess plastic stock away to leave only what is nessesary to hold the bristles in & the whole thing together. this makes them more user friendly ( & a wee bit lighter for the wimps).
I have used gaz swivel (salmon) utter tripe, unger- not bad, vikan oval (old type) not very good, facelift- good on bigger glass but too bulky for most domestic, another salmon- again utter tripe.
It's down to personal choice & wfp technique at the end of the day. the modified vikan rectangular with a MKII swivel work perfectly for me, day in, day out. ;)

Don`t think Tony mentioned the Hi-lo did he.

I can afford a Bentley, so why not? 8)

I started 2 years ago with an Ionics
Since then I went to a Vikan after reading all stuff on here
Then I used Salmon swivel for a while
I've gone back to Ionics
Ido like the swivel but not the salmon brush, it gets on my nerves.
If I could get Ionics with a swivel that would do. They do lose their shape a bit but they don't wear down like other cheap stuff
Just my experience

I've replaced the brush heads on my Ionic and Facelift poles with Tucker. Can't beat a Tucker brush unless you use a Supalite pole in which case they are fitted with a Bentley brush simply because of the weight significance.
-
Tucker all the way.
Now had there system almost 5 years , tried others, but the best is tucker.
The salmon are not bad for the money, & others are bringing outnew brushs now also.

does it not depend on the jets as well?. Would a brush not be better with one sort of jet than the other, and then you've got water flow. Surely we need someone like messrs. gardiner or or the like to actually do a proper 'roadtest' with the same pole but different brush
-
where can u get tucker brushes?
-
Tucker are the BEST.
Or they would be with a normal thread.
-
well We think that the new Ionic brush with commercial 2mm jets is best
and they dont curl up any more EDD

Vikan HiLo allday

done exactly the same, will not be experimenting any more from now on its ionics for me

i do pull a few bristles out though (ionics) because i use cleantech low pressure fan jets, just my preference for better rinsing
