hi guys
spoke to a business coach today just wondered if anybody else has had experience of a business coach and whether it worked for you
not sure whether it is a good idea any views would be welcomed

Hi Mate,
Yeah I've had loads of business coaching and stuff like that. The thing I found with them is you have to ask the same question about a dozen different ways to get any where with them. Been asking the best way to advertise as many different ways that I can ask the same question and it took me about 6 meetings to get an answer out of him. They are good and do aim you in the right direction but remember if you do spend your time talking to one they like to spend their time telling you how successful their business was but without telling you how the did it. Keep their ego's low and their focus on your company!

Waste of time, it's the new trend. Have met loads of them at business meetings and having been in the business trade you know some are talking waffle. It's a franchise.
My advise is you are better going on a Business Gateway course.

i went to a franchise show in n.e.c. at w/end and met with some and was just asking of yourselves whether you had any experience of them as i was considering it as an option for business growth

nice site, love the colour of it shocking but works, does it make you more business?

not really lots of hits but not many conversions soon to amend it with the help of my daughter (11yrs old) as new program from one of her school buddies worked on laptop just need to transcribe to desktop and then website more concise info better layout hopefully more conversions and more dosh if all goes well will buy her a laptop for xmas as a reward for helping her technophobic dad get more work

Some of the grammatical errors are there for a reason and the rest I can see :-\ I am running like a robot at the mo, finished my morning work, stat on van in a mo, then off to printers, then back to website design my target is only working till 12 tonight

I don't follow that at all, surely one of the priorities of a website designer is correct grammar/spelling?

all site that i design are copy checked by the person buying it before going live and any errors corrected, most people will provide there own text for the sites so that is good for me. I design and market my own I do not have an A level in english far from it, but 1 thing I do know is i do know what I am doing and the result show.
pointless having a site with perfect grammer that know person ever visits ;) that just a little tip for other that are think the same about grammer, grammer can be corrcted very quick, a site and marketing takes several months ;)

You've got a cracking looking van and by the sounds of it some great kit in the back, but the pro image has to be all the way through and that includes grammar on your site mate.
If i was a commercial buyer and was looking for a WC, the bad grammar would put me off. It'll cost you work

Arthur fully understand where you are coming from on that, I keep saying alot of it is for a reason, but alot seems not to get through to people, Within days I have paid back the outlay I have made on van etc, I got 19 flats the first night, they went to my website via my van. as soon as site is where i want it it will be changed then changed again and it is being fully re designed as I have new things up my sleaves ;)

why do you feel you need this ??
Ian I don't feel I need anybody along these lines to help with my business although when I started the local Council offered me them for free. 20 sessions for free so I agreed to it. I also do some networking through the council and find this helps out too!

Business plans for dummies is very good. It tells you everything, all about usp's
mission statements, your worst customers costing you money.
Applied to us adapt for compactness, the business is loyalty based(thanks ww), and it's about maintaining clean windows not cleaning dirty ones(thanks graeme).
Colley made good points. Sell on customer benefits. Use technology, george, internet banking dont collect. Put in place superb working practices to the business run smoothly etc etc.

Getting a phone call from advertising, isnt securing a contract. Unfortuatley its just not as simple as that mate, it takes weeks/months.
If you have managed to quote and landed it already, well done mate thats good going.
I have taken on smaller jobs with even a 'hand shake' but anything worth something takes time, one job took me 8 months to get :o
And back to the topic, I have a personal business mentor and a couple of advisors. All extremly wealthy and sucsessfull men. Who know alot about almost everything. I dont pay a penny ;D
