We have a fairly large office post refurb clean to quote for.
Some carpet is being replaced and some cleaned.
It is weekend only work and will be doen in sections so sometimes only a small piece of carpet will be done but other times huge areas.
We were thinking about £3.00 per square metre for first 50m of any "session" and then dropping price for remainder of any given area.
Has anyone quoted like this before?
Do you think it sounds like too much anyway?
Thanks
Simon

Who can tell what to price.
I have won some at £3/metre and on others been asked if I can beat £1/metre......yes thats right less than £1....incase your wondering no I didn't ;D
-
Neil - I should hope not too.. ::)
I know it obviously depends on area, how badly you need the work etc but its nice to have an idea I reckon
-
it all depends if the company are getting any other quotes. if there not go for it if they are getting other quotes you will be lucky to get half that

It would be difficult for any of us to give you any idea without seeing the job. With experience you'll know how long a job should take, so take a good look around and picture in your mind how long each session will take, multiply by your hourly rate and submit as an end price only, don't go with some first 'x' metres at £? and the rest at £?.
As a goldern rule never quote on something of this size without seeing what you will be up against. Also it's worth putting on the quote that the price is based on the condition of the carpet as seen at the time of quotation, this stops painters etc saying sod the dust sheets the cleaners will go behind us.

Give them a demo while you are measuring up so they can see what they are getting for their money.
I would see the area first before thinking about price.
