Title: RO unit and PPM

Hello

Set up the RO in the van to give it a Try.

The tank i'm using has had tap water in so may affect it, so has the hose, by the time it gets to my backpack it's 15ppm

This is far to high?

Also, the RO (2ooGPD it does go through a DI to) only doing just over a gallon an hour!

Can anyone suggest anything?

I wouldn't dream of using readings that high but someone on here will probably tell you they do and get no problems ::)

Why didn't you swill the tank out a few times before you filled up with pure?
I'd just run some pure through and the TDS will obviously go down.

My 200gpd system gets about 12.5 ltrs (3 galls) an hour on 55psi, yours either has a problem or the supply pressure is really low.

Well thats what i'm doing it was coming out the ro at 3ppm before i was doing it through the tank so i'm just swilling it through.

I havnt filled it up, i'm in the process of doing so, which will take till Xmas.

I know it has a problem i'm just asking if anyone knows what it is!

obvoiusly you have to flush out the tap water m8, RO filters did you buy new or second hand as they may need changing 15ppm is way to high

15ppm is too high. It may be just the residue dirty water in the system. Is your resin in the DI unit spent? Sounds like something is reducing your flow rate, is one of your pre-filters clogged, is the DI unit putting back pressure on the RO stopping processing properly?

You haven't told us what mains water pressure you are getting.
You haven't told us how old the pre filters and membrane is.
How fast is it coming out of just the filters?
Is the backflush valve in the correct position?
