Hi Joe
There was quite a detailed discussion on this forum early this year. If you do a search you can review the comments.

I've just bought a second hand caravan and it was heavily mildewed; covered in loads of green stuff and mildew spots.

It took more than pure water and a brush to get it looking good; we resorted to using a bleach spray in the end.

I would also add that the roof, which is made of a smooth material was easier to clean than the sides which is 'textured'.  My brush and pure water took most of the green stuff off, but the mildew spots needed cleaning 'traditionally' with a cloth.

I'd have wanted more than £20 to clean my caravan; it must've taken at least an hour-and-a-half; mabye longer, though it was the 'textured' sides which took the most work.

I would recommend a pre-spray of bleach and then a WFP down with a flocked brush.

I have always found that on mould bleach works really well, it is also cheap if bought by the gallon from a wholesalers.

I pre-mix it up in a back-pack spray, spray the whole unit and then leave for 1/2 hour and pole it off.

TFR I have found to leave some residue on certain applications. Although it is also excellent on many different surfaces.

I never have needed to on a conservatory, but it would certainly make the job a lot easier to do. A quick pre-spray can take just 5 minutes and will result in a lot less scrubbing (which is the hard bit!)

Is that thick or thin bleach? Also what do you dilute it down to, ie 1 bleach to 4 water??

Buy it commercially and it is usually thin, then dilute it down as required usually about 1:3 or 1:4, if something is really bad then 1:2 will work.

Always be careful when using any chemicals near where people are as Health and Safety guidelines will need to be followed.

Hi Bazz,

How are you doing?

I did a static caravan last week, all I used was a spray with a little washing up liquid, it took me one hour total, I charged her £60 and she was well happy.  ;D ;D ;D

Joe it will streak if you leave it on to long before getting it off, also try to dilute it more.It will also streak if it`s not put on evenly, use a spray bottle.

Don't use bleach on UVPC, it can make it go yellow

Parrafin, followed by a box of matches.

Excellent for caravans.

we clean loads of them in the lakes,
we charge £25 inc cleaning the gutters out,
we can do 2-3 per hour 2 of us
we use tfr standard car cleaning brushes & rinse with i pressure washer on low pressure

its all mounted in my van so the sites love me cos i dnt use there water. i dnt tap into customers taps either which makes it quicker for me, we can usually do about 18 statics per day, its a brill wet day money earner, ive been doin them about 10 yrs now,
