..Joining the IIRC,going to the flood school 4 day seminar,promoting oneself as a all hours emergency technician/cleaner.
Is it worth the time /money?
I suspect it is.

No
You need to be in with a insurance co or a local restoration co who has too much work.
Speak to John Kelly as hes the only o/operator I know who does this sort of work.

Lot to learn. You can only really pick up volume work if you are part of a network. As Mark says worthwhile contacting a few local franchisees such as Rainbow, ChemDry and the private companies such as Munters and Belfor and offering your services as a subby. I know one guy picked some work up in the recent floods and he had never done it before.
I know contractors who have grossed in excess of 1 million pounds this summer.
