Title: Less work on my Ladders
Post by: jeff1 on October 02, 2007, 04:39:54 pm
Just ordered my gutter lance and all the bits that go with it. (http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k23/jeffo_01/locked.gif)
I paid the extra couple of quid for next day delivery because I hate waiting for gear to arrive once I've paid for it.

No more access issues, any customer who locks gates will be phoned the night before, I have about 4 custys with flat roof issues.
One custy that I used my ladder for, to gain access to the flat roof, I went to her today and I forgot my ladders ;D, I found that with my pole protector I was able to do this window completly from the ground, so I'll try the rest to see if they can be done from the ground.

Any tips from gutter lance users will be most welcome, I can see all my family having free gutter cleaning this week ::)

Jeff,

What's a pole protector?
Yep its just a lengh of sink waste pipe I cut down to snap onto any section of my pole when going over flat roofs, it stops all the roof or gutterin causing damage to the pole, I won't be without it now.

I did post pictures on here some time back, I'll see if I can find them.

because its internal diameter is smaller than the poles outer diameter, it just grips onto it, Luke

Here it is, it stops all the scraping from guttering or roof edges. it clips onto ant section apart from the first narrow section.

Is that the 28' hybrid Jeff, I'm thinking of getting one is this the best length.

I snapped my 18'fg xtel base section today on the end but put some tape round it and it is okay if I don;t extend the section it holds fully out. Any ideas on abetter fix.

Its the 34'  Hybrid, and 5' lowered, I use it every day on every Job, I find it an excellent pole all round.

No Ideas for you on pole fixing, I have seen a couple of topics in the past about pole repairs, so there is something on the forum about it.

I got one of those and am quite impressed that you managed to snap it.

Go on do tell as I can try to avoid doing what ever it was you did ;D

Ran the first section fully out. Iy snapped about two inches down from the clamp.
Lesson leave more overlap when going horizontal.
