Title: Anyone use Biodesil
Post by: wightsurf on October 01, 2007, 07:38:25 pm
Has anyone used this ? I have had a look at this option due to the price of fuel and there are different ways to go about this from making it your self to buying veg fat put straight in the tank .
any ideas on this?

a friend of mine who is a car mechanic, uses pure ve oil straight from the tins
in to his tank, i kid you not, he has had no problems at all,  i asked him was the oil not meant to be filtered and put through some kind of process, before you can run it in the car, he said its all bull, he said its cheaper to buy the oil than diesel

a friend of mine is starting to make his own bio fuel. he has a 1000 litre tank (like you WFP people have) waiting to be filled with the stuff. he is getting all the filters to remove the water and stuff from it. and i think he's found a supplier for bio fuel. the only thing he cant find is the oil and peelings etc that they use.

thanks for that. i printed it and will give it to him. he's a car and motorbike mechanic who does motocross racing and is fed up of paying over the odds for fuel. so he is making it himself (or will be) and anyone who is willing to share the costs can have some (ie...5 people pay 1/5 each then 5 people can have some of the fuel) so, if any of you are close to each other it could be something ot look into, or if you know people who are willing to share the costs. he is having a unit to put everything in, with the pumps, tanks etc and even a computer system he is programming to control the flow of each thing. he did explain it all to me but i dont remember t now.

I have a friend who has an old 405 desiel that he uses for work that he fills up with pure oil. He says its ok to put it in old cars, but not in the new TDCI, HDI ect ect engines due to it messing up the electronic fuel pumps and other advanced bits of technology??

I got a quote on a 500L tank of Diesel 88p a litre, goes down if you buy more.

Thats normal diesel aswell which is more expensive, be worth looking into, specially if you have a few buddies who drive diesel vechiles you may be able to get a bigger quantity.

Well there was a bit on the one show, that they had an AA man on there complaining that they are getting more and more callouts now due to people running new cars on oil?? So im told! They said that new car companies are now working in conjunction with oil companies for the new engines??

i'm running my 96 vw caddy on biodeisel-should have done it earlier within ten miles of putting 20 odd litres of the stuff in the engine was running smoother and quieter,do some research though straight diesel is thinner than biodeisel than straight veg oil i had some problems starting from cold until i blended the mix with diesel to thin it it does work though 78 new penny's a litre for waste oil smells ok too-just try putting new cheap veg oil into you tank-2 or three litres to say 1/4 of a tankfull  of deisel it'll work keep checking the fuel filters after a bit though-hope this helps don't know how to do a link thing but try looking up "journey to forever" on the tinternet for more info ;D :) :)

Ok been looking into this all eve,and you can use biodesil in any desil car.Don't get this mixed up with straight veg oil (svo) which needs your engine to be converted. The good bit is You don't pay vat on it if you use less than 2500 ltrs a year , i think thats if you make it yourself  :P
You lot who are lucky to live near a station thats sells this stuff should at least have a chat to them, what you got to lose(or the gov to gain)  8)
As for me i'm going DIY  ;D
