Title: Charley Pads
Post by: Scott Martin on October 26, 2004, 10:43:48 pm
Has anyone used these and are they any good?

Can they be used with a standard slow rpm scrubing machine with water tank? How much water should be used in a 100m2 area.

Any advice would be great

Hi scott.
I used them for the first time yesterday on a synthetic carpet and i found them to be very good, and very quick!!
I could'nt remember what to do, so i used the solutions to prespray with, and then buffed off with it, and it was fine!

Ian.

Scott,

I've just got in after doing 1200 sq.yds. of minging carpet tiles. I used the Charley Pads to agitate the solutions micro-splitter - much more effective than a brush.

As Ian has suggested, the shampoo tank is not used as the pads have internal sponges. Soak pad in water, wring out lightly and spin over the pre-sprayed carpet, either as a stand-alone bonnet clean, or as I did today, follow with a plain water rinse.

I agree Money well spent!  Most of us have slow speed rotaries so the cost of a set of pads and the double ringer from Nick is a small price to pay for a very good Low Moisture method of cleaning. I have used them on commercial carpet for maintenance cleans with great results.
