Title: What pole?
Post by: Wrekin C S on October 01, 2007, 01:26:15 pm
Hi all I still need a new pole got an 18ft pole from freedom but not long enough for some higher windows so will 24ft be long enough?  - I was gonna go for 24ft xtel but read on here something about splinters after a few months - any other ideas? Don't think i'll bother doing a diy pole i'd cock it up lol so what other poles are about for reasonable prices?

Also need a short pole for bottom windows

Thanks
Andy

I've gone for a 21ft Xtel i think that will do the job to be honest, on my house (no conserv i must admit) i only have two sections out so much be around 15foot.

so leaves me with 6 foot for arkward windows, + my extended reach.

Go for the 24ft hybrid x-tel that wont (shouldn't) have splinters.... still around £285 all in though.

Is there much difference in use between the GF 24ft and 28ft and if so what are the benefits/Disadvantages?

No they both weigh as much as a concrete block, get a 24ft carbon facelift or 34ft is better then you can take a couple of sections off for everyday use.

Got a 24ft xtel hybrid (£278+VAT) from Arthur at surecleansystems. I like it, but only had it for a couple of weeks, so can't comment on splintering.

I think the splintering effect starts if you chip the base section,it exposes the fiberglass if your not careful with it.I bet most people that are getting this trouble have knocked or chipped the base section.
