Post by: windowwashers on September 26, 2007, 12:09:37 am
I am trying to find out which is the best pole size to use on domestic standard say 2 up 2 down.

What is the best size for windows over conservatories on again standard 3 bed semi.

Also interested as i've done some searches and its mixed views

18 is obviously big enough untill you come to a conserv, so would a 20-24 be more adviseable?

The ideal domestic pole would be a very light and very stiff 20ft pole which would be made up of 4 sections of 5ft each.

This pole due to its incredible stiffness and low weight could be used for all downstairs work but would easily reach over all conservatories etc.

Does such a pole exist? Yes I have a prototype one that I have been using for about 4 months now and it is truly awesome.

Until these poles hit the market there is always the 21ft X-Tel which is light and has shortish sections. Slightly whippy but light enough to forgive this.

I find 24' very handy for the odd velux window,.. and it barely reaches at that. I've a 7 section one that closes to about 4'. Its a bit flexible but that doesn't bother me too much on domestic work. By the way,.. it cost me under £40 including the brush!  ;D ;D
