Hi
A client has a slate or quarry tile in utility room. Builders in - splish, splash, splosh with bits of plaster everywhere.Most of it is off, but there are still hue of the plaster coming through. Also there is one wierd blob - client says she has scrubbed at it loads, but it just wont budge.Ran my finger over it, and there is no noticeable height difference in tile and where blob starts.Also disappears when floor is wet and then reappears. Sounds like it has permenated into tile doesnt it?Any advice?
Do you think it would be of any benefit to put rotary across it?Which pad as dont want to scratch?Red or perhas scruber brush?
Any advice appreciated.

Take some acetone with you. (nail polish remover) read label to see that the brand you use is acetone. Worked a treat on slate fireplace i cleaned up once.

The best companyI have found for the cleaning and sealing of stone is aqua mix, their website is www.aquamix.co.uk and the man to speak to for expert advice is Ian Taylor 07921 086873. I suggest that you use a rotary pad with a nylon brush at a speed of approximately 170/190 rpm and use that in conjunction with an aqua mix cleaning product called "nano scrub", it is first class. You will also ideally require a wet vac to suck up the water but failing that lots of mopping and rinsing. You can test it first with hand nylon brush on 1 square to see the results, give it a dwell time of 5 mins or so before sponging off. If you are succesful with the clean aqua mix also supply an amazing water based sealer called "sealers choice gold". For a slate floor, clean, rinse and seal I would charge approximately £12.00/mtr2.
