hi guys,
we are thinking about getting a gutter lance and i know some of you have got them, anyone know if this will do for gutters as well, also not sure if it comes with the trigger, assuming it does, does this allow you to regulate the power of the water washing the gutter or is it just on or off

I'm getting my petrol pressure washer on Tuesday, and I'm also getting the same lance 7.3mtr you do need to buy the jets as the lance doesn't come with any, you get the trigger with it (I asked the same question some weeks back)
If you intend to do gutters with it? then you will need this.
http://www.northerntooluk.com/products.asp?partno=1573211E and attach your jets to it.
Re your pressure washer, if you have an electric one, then you will need power for it, cant keep asking custys for there electric ;D
Also if you get loads of work then you need a good pressure washer and not the diy one, it won't last you half a dozen jobs.

Can imagine it getting dead messy!

According to the pro's, once you get the hang of it and get your angles right, it can do a good job, beats going up a ladder. ;)

jeff thanks for the reply, do you know if the lance can be extended we have some three storey gutters that need doing
-
I use a long wand and gutter attachment to clean gutters now, fantastic bit of kit. It took a bit to get used to it, but now no mess. But when i do gutters, i generally clean the fascias and soffits anyway.
-
did you had any problems with the fittings from the house that comes with the pressure washer not fitting the wand?if so how did you sort it, and where did you got the fitting from?

All I know is they are telescopic, and at 25' the one your getting, may just about reach 3 floors, Seen some pictures on here of a guy doing a 3rd fllor block of flats.

I'm buying my first petrol one from B&Q £230, if I get on with the system and after a few months of testing, I'll buy a Pro one and give the boss my old one for the garden ;D
Thanks for the picture Chris ;) what size lance is that??
-
You might be able to pick a decent second hand one up for £250 odd off ebay.
-
Hey - Thats a picture of me! :)
The lance I was using in the picture is the 7.3m one from Northen Tool UK.

To be honest with you kwakers I don't like buying things from abroard or ebay at least the one from B&Q gives me a 3 year warranty, don't think I would get that from ebay.

I'm getting the 7.3mtr lance, I was wondering if it would do 3 stories high, so now I know, thanks Andy ;)

Who said I was going to tell them what I use it for ;D ;D You are right though, when you buy a diy machine its not covered for commercial use.

After 1 year when the machine looks like it went 12 rounds with Tyson, i think you might have problems convincing them that you cleaned your patio and drive once a year ;D ;D

Your a dodgy man Jeff ;D ;D

B&Q no, i definately would not as these will not last & the warranty is invalid if it looks used.
Ipurchased a mower for a spare on gardening contract & it fell to pieces in less than 6 months.
Get a good honda, i purchased a 5.5hp almost new with extra kit for £300.
Hardly use it but it starts everytime & has the power to do any job (small). Looking to take on more of this sort of work aswell.

Hi,
Have a look at our new battery operated camera kit (with rechargeable wireless monitor/recorder/MP3 & MP4 player), http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=270168548307&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=017 which is ideal for seeing what you're doing at height (& recording it date- and time-stamped for showing it before and after to your customers). It's also on our website at www.andwat.co.uk, complete with its own dedicated ultra lightweight telescopic pole at a very competitive price - ideal for its purpose, and far cheaper than anything else currently available.
Yours
Andrew
