I do my family for free but not every month just when i got time. And with good friends i do them for free if they get me work, Dont do "mates down the pub" though
-
I do my 3 daughters houses FOC, How can you charge your family? but they are aware, its as and when I have some spare time, except for days like today.
My Son-in-law is in the RN and they were moving out today, I had to go and clean there windows and give them an invoice, to show the work had been done,
Trouble was the front of there house is full of secondry glazing, So I told the son-in-law to take them all out side and I wfp the lot. ;D for FREE ;D
But I won't do friends houses, not even for a price.
-
i do my next door neighbours, a fair price would be £15, it's a large fourbedroom with leaded georgian at the front. I charge her £8, and I agreed to do it every three months.
I've only done it twice so far, and yes after my spending 45 minutes on it she complained.
firstly " Clive I'm not being funny but are you going to dry these windows?"
Then she found some spots on the inner corners of the lead either side of the front door. The lead here is about 2" traingles and the spots were in the apex of the corner about 1/32 of an inch.
"Better me telling you." she said " Than one of your other customers."

Don't ya just hate the way women say it....exactly as it is. About as tactful as an AK 47. Unlike us whimpy MEN who will do anything for a simple life :)
