Title: Altro Flooring
Post by: Kevin White on September 21, 2007, 10:04:10 am
Is there any magical chemical out there ?

My problem is a toilet floor, grey non slip altro, we have very hard water in this area which doesn,t help. Under the urinals where all the drips and leaks sit have stained a dark brown colour "probably pee". I have tried a both phosphoric and hydrochloric based descalers with a machine and pad, this doesn't touch the discolouring however.

Any ideas people.

Hi

Afraid you are onto a loser here!  The area underneath urinals is typical of this as the problem is urine, the urine sits on the surface of the floor and after time and enough of it, it penetrates the surface of the altro leaving permanent staining, after all urine is a form of acid so it's not surprising.  All's you can do is keep scrubbing (pref scrubber dryer) so that the staining doesn't become worse.

NO!

My local club has the same problem, told them to put a bucket under it and call a plumper (it’s been there for 5 wks)
